Before we delve into the wonderful world of HVAC with our helpful and informative A-to-Z glossary of HVAC terms, there’s one thing we need to clear up:
What does HVAC mean?
You’ve probably seen it advertised on the sides of service trucks, or heard it on radio and TV commercials and seen it in newspaper ads: “Call us, we’re HVAC specialists!”
So what does HVAC stand for, and what does it mean to be an HVAC specialist? HVAC stands for “Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning” and relates to all of the technology involved in environmental comfort. Simply put, HVAC is what keeps you cozy and warm in the winter, and cool and comfortable in the summer. It’s your heating and cooling systems.
At Eyman Plumbing, Heating & Air, we literally live and breath HVAC. For us, it all comes down to making sure our customers are comfortable inside their homes. In the winter, that means an energy efficient heating system that is always at the ready with a clean, pleasant stream of heated air to keep you toasty warm during those cold winter days and nights. In the summer, we make sure you stay cool and comfy with a fresh flow of clean, energy efficient cooled air.
That’s the quick answer to HVAC. But there’s so much more that goes into making sure your heating and air conditioning systems are always working properly. Below is a glossary of terms related to HVAC and what they mean. This isn’t required reading when you’re considering installing a new HVAC system – we take care of all the technical details for you – but if you’re curious, this is an easy way to become more familiar with some of these terms.
