Eyman has chosen PPI as it’s insulation partner
The insulation department at Eyman Plumbing Heating & Air wraps insulation pipe for plumbing and for HVAC – almost anything that could condensate or requires thermal protection.
They primarily work in new construction and industrials, including Omaha Steaks and Armor Eckridge. Industrial locations have stricter codes to follow.
Eyman wraps pipes in metal if the company uses ammonia lines. They also wrap interior pipes in PVC. At Omaha Steaks, where they spray equipment each night, the insulation has a paper barrier. Then it’s encapsulated with PVC to keep it clean.
Two kinds of insulation
- Pre-formed: This comes in three foot sections that unfold and cling to the pipe. Then you lap the piece over the next section of insulation.
- Not pre-formed: This comes in100–foot–long, four–foot–wide rolls. You cut the length you need.
Eyman also provides fire stopping to prevent flames from penetrating through holes in the insulation. The material expands when flames reach it. It gives the insulation a fire rating of one to two hours before the fire can spread.
Consider a hotel fire. To keep flames from spreading to rooms above or adjacent, all the insulation holes are caulked with fire stop.
Eyman’s offers fire stopping services when they bid to install insulation. That lets customers use them as a “one-stop” shop.
