Wonder if you need a sewer line inspection?

Haven’t had your plumbing checked in a while?

If you own a home, it’s very important to take care of your sewer lines and keep them in good condition. If you ever plan to sell your home, it’s especially important the plumbing be thoroughly inspected.

But it’s hard to determine if it’s time to get your sewer checked. Luckily, we’ve got you covered. Here are some of the signals to tell you it’s time for an inspection.

Low Water Levels

One top sign of sewage problems is if the water levels in the toilets of your home are low or change regularly. If there’s a different level each day or if your toilets bubble or make weird noises, it’s time to get your pipes checked out.

Low or fluctuating water levels can signal bigger problems with your sewage line only a thorough inspection will reveal.

Water Drains Slowly

Another sign of sewer line issues is when the water in your home drains take more time than it should take to empty. You could see this after flushing your toiler or draining a sink.

It could also appear when water drains after a bath or shower.

Slow draining points to a deeper problem in your sewer line. If you notice it throughout your home, get an inspection as soon as you can.

Inconsistent Pressure

If the water pressure is low or it varies and fluctuates, it may another sign your sewer line should be checked.

Like slow drainage and low water levels, varied water pressure is often related to deeper problems. Call a professional if you consistently notice this issue.

Bad Odors

You may also notice strong and unpleasant odors if you have sewage or plumbing problems.

These are most noticeable by the ground outside of your home but can happen other places too. The bathroom and basement are also prone to smelling poorly if there is a sewer line problem.

Mold Growth

If you notice mold growth in your bathroom, kitchen or elsewhere, it could be caused by sewer line problems. While mold occurs for other reasons, too.

If mold appears and you have other issues from this list, you’d probably want an inspection sooner than later.

Cracks in Your Home

Surprisingly, cracks in your walls or ceilings can also indicate plumbing issues. Sewer line problems sometimes cause cracks in homes, although, as with mold, there can be other causes.

Sewer issues aren’t the usual cause of such damage. But if cracks can be paired with other plumbing problems, a professional should investigate.

Leaks Under Your Foundation

If any leaking occurs beneath your foundation, take immediate action. Such leaks are often a clear sign of plumbing problems. Call someone to investigate and identify any deeper problems you may have with your pipes.

Disturbing Noises

If you have sewer line problems that should to be addressed,  In the case of a problem, your plumbing fixtures, toilets, sinks or other water sources may make gurgling or popping sounds.

These noises could be caused by trapped air and water in your pipes. This can lead to more serious issues if you don’t resolve the problem quickly.

Making the Choice

If you see any or all of the issues listed above, it’s time to get a sewer line inspection. It’s essential to assure your home remains welcoming and livable.
