Warmer weather is around the corner. Be ready, check your air-conditioning!
Check your air-conditioning before you turn it on, here’s some things you can do at home:
1. Check the thermostat
Turn the thermostat up over 80°F for approximately 30 minutes, then slowly turn it down to under 60°F and wait for the air conditioning to kick on. This could also help reset the thermostat’s electronics, saving an unnecessary service call.
2. Check the vents
Within about 15 minutes after turning the temperature down on the thermostat, check the air coming out of the vents on every level of your house. If the air is room temperature or warm, time to check the unit itself. Your air-conditioning might need a recharge. Call Eyman!
3. Check the unit
Keeping a clean clearance space around your air-conditioning units and clean filters is key to their proper function. Look for freeze around the refrigerant unit as that might be sign of a leak. Turn off your A/C so it thaws and call your Eyman Service Technician to set up an appointment.
